To
configure Outlook 2000 for Windows follow the below steps.
1. Open Outlook
2000.
2. Select the Tools menu Click
Accounts.
3. Within the Internet Accounts window, Select Add and
click Mail.
4. The Outlook Email wizard will appear
5.
Display Name: Enter your name as you would like
it to appear on messages you send Click
Next.
6. Insert Email Address: Enter your Email address, Click
Next.
7. Email Server Names:
- Select POP3 for
incoming server.
- Type your
incoming e-mail server (mail.yourdomain.com)
- Type your
outgoing e-mail server (mail.yourdomain.com)
Click
Next
8. Internet
mail Logon:
- Account
name: Enter your entire e-mail address
- Password: Type
your password (Checking Remember password is optional) Note:
Do NOT check Log on
using Secure Password Authentication (SPA).
Click Next
9. If you are
using high-speed internet access, select the LAN option. If you are
using a phone line select the phone line option. When finished, click
the Next
button.

10. If you are
using
high-speed internet access.
At the Congratulations screen Click Finish.
OR
If you are using
a phone line select Use
an existing dial up connection and Click
Next. At
the Congratulations screen Click Finish.
Important Notice:
All mail accounts are setup to use SMTP Authentication
To configure authenticated SMTP in Outlook:
1. From the Tools menu,
select "Accounts..."
2. Highlight your Mail account
3. Click the "Properties" button on the right
side.
4. Choose the "Servers" tab.
5. Check the box next to "My server requires authentication."
6. Click the "Apply" button.
7. Click the "OK" button. |
